Not sure what to expect during your massage?

Here are some common questions we get asked as Massage Therapists.

  • Undress to your comfort level, which means you can wear whatever you want.

    If you’re comfortable keeping certain garments on, that’s fine.

    Please don’t make yourself uncomfortable for us.

    Usually our clients will undress to their underwear. We drape accordingly with towels to ensure modesty during your treatment.

  • If you feel the need to through your treatment, simply let your therapist know and go. That way you can relax and enjoy the rest of your massage. We don’t mind at all.

  • If the pressure is too hard or too light, don’t be afraid to speak up. We are here to help you, not injure you, the last thing we want is you feeling any discomfort at all.

  • Hairy legs, acne lumps and bumps, we have seen it all. Our focus is not on your body and how it looks, but on how great we can make you feel.

  • Make yourself as comfortable as possible. You will relax during most of your treatment on our tables which are designed for stability and comfort.

    We will make sure you are warm and comfortable throughout the treatment. Relaxing music is played to help you unwind and focus on the changes occurring in your body.

    Focus on your breathing, try taking nice long deep breaths to help oxygenate the body.

  • It is very common for clients to fall asleep during their massage. If you snore, or drool, don’t worry, your are not the first and will not be judged. We love seeing you so relaxed!

  • Massage can be performed side lying or seated. We aim to treat every (body), and will support your body as necessary to ensure comfort and support.

  • If your are feeling unwell, whether that be cold or flu, uneasy stomach, anything out of the normal, please phone, message or cancel online to reschedule your appointment.

    Massage can have a strong effect on the body, if you are sick, the symptoms will intensify. Take some time to get over your illness, then rebook when felling better.

  • Following a massage, it is possible to have some soreness for 24-48 hours, similar to the feeling after a good workout. This is a normal response within the body when circulation and detoxification is increased, and muscles have been worked.

    You will feel subtle shifts occurring over the next few days as well. Some examples are;

    • Pain relief

    • Improved mobiliity

    • Deeper sleep patterns

    • Digestive issues may subside

    • Stress, irritability and anxiety levels may subside

    • Increased energy levels

    • Like exercise, the more you in engage in regular massage, the greater the outcomes and overall wellness.

  • We do not recommend massage in the 1st trimester. Please wait until you are over 12 weeks of pregnancy.
